TORONTO, ONTARIO–(CCNMatthews – Feb. 19, 2007) – At the international “Ambiente Exhibition” 2007 in Frankfurt, the groundbreaking Oticon Delta hearing device was awarded one of the five prestigious 2007 Gold Design Awards of the Federal Republic of Germany. Delta’s innovative triangular and miniature design is changing people’s perceptions of conventional hearing aids all over the world. The committee selected Delta from a pool of over 900 entries in the products and communication category.

Industrial designer and member of the German Design Award jury Torsten Neeland endorses Delta’s design by stating:

“Most important with a hearing device is to create an object whose formal aspect largely disappears into the background. Users will only have a feeling of security and independence if the device, which complies with all technical demands, has no physical presence. This hearing device has fulfilled the criteria. In the wake of strong social changes, Oticon and Lockenwitz (design agency) have devoted themselves to the over-50 generation, thereby making an innovative contribution. The design is convincing in its finely dimensioned, low-key form which fits the ear optimally and looks a little like a piece of jewellery.”
